$20.00

Bring a burst of elegance to your spring garden with Ranunculus Amandine ‘Barby’, a variety prized for its large, rose-like blooms in vibrant shades of pink with soft, ruffled petals. Known as the “rose of spring,” ranunculus are beloved by gardeners and florists alike for their long vase life and abundance of flowers per corm.

Summary Growing Instructions

Planting time: October–December in the Midlands (Zones 7–9); early spring in colder zones.

Soak: 4–6 hours in room-temperature water. Don’t exceed 6 hours to prevent rot.

Plant: 2–3" deep, 4–6" apart, claws facing down.

Soil: Full sun, well-drained beds or containers amended with an all-purpose fertilizer and aged compost (we love Stout Ollie!). Avoid soggy conditions.

Water: Keep moist but not wet; let the surface dry slightly between waterings.

Protect: Use frost cloth or a sheet if temps drop below 32°F. Use hoops, coat hangers or anything you have on hand to keep the cover from touching the plants in freezing weather.

Bloom: Around 90 days after planting — just as the garden wakes up again.
